Yellow and grey

The kids' new bath will be white, yellow, and grey. I just picked up the hand towels and shower curtain from Appetite. Tres chic!

Tile, trim, marmoleum...oh my

Tile is going up like gangbusters. Goooo tile guys!

Also, our powder room now has our Asian Tiger orange marmoleum from the other house. It's my one way to have a piece of the old house in the new house.

Oh, Greg wants you to know that it took an astonishing 100 gallons of interior paint to paint the house walls and ceilings. Yikes. And the trim isn't even painted yet. Remind me never to paint the interior again. I think it's possible that the paint subcontractor under-estimated a bit (seriously, that is a heck of a lot of white paint). And be assured, it looks WHITE. Delightfully so.

Greg and Drew worked on the shed this week; hopefully it'll be ready to receive garage cabinets and various goodies soon. Starting tomorrow, Greg starts to put up kitchen cabinets.

Tripping

I'm out of town on a business trip this week, so I'll be missing out on a week's worth of project work and progress. My understanding is that work will be going on related to the walls (initial painting, I hope) and potentially the tile crew will start work on the bathrooms. Hopefully when I get home next weekend, there will be new wonders for me to behold.

Greg's working on packing up some kitchen stuff this week so that we can move cabinets soon from one house to the other. That may be next weekend's adventure.

Given that I have no other valuable info to share, I will now entertain you with photos from my trip.

Like a phoenix...

...our tub has risen from ashes and is now splendid.

Before

After

Ooh, look at it shine

Good job e.
(Is it weird that I'm giving myself kudos?)

More photos of the tub here, as well as the hardwood floors going in as we speak.

See you in a couple of weeks then...

Well, the house isn't finished enough for an appraisal. Apparently we need finished bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms for it to be habitable. Come on! Greg could easily live in it in its current state. (In retrospect, this seems pretty sensible, but we Leedys are dreamers.)

So....let's get the bathrooms and bedrooms done and move that kitchen!

Here's a picture of the house sans port-a-john. It comes back this week, but for a brief, shining moment, it was gone.

Goings on

Hey folks -- sorry for the radio silence. It's been a busy couple of weeks. Exterior framing is done and interior framing is ongoing. Tar paper is going onto the house in advance of siding. Windows are to be installed 3/2 and 3/3.

Yesterday, we picked out a bunch of fixtures for bathrooms. Check it out!

We're putting Duravit D-Code all over the house: 6 bathroom sinks, 1 bathtub, 2 shower trays: http://www.duravit.us/products/series/d-code-lfli6y5hby.html

We're putting Kohler Oblo faucets in several places:

Exciting, eh?

We were at the site yesterday. I'll try to post some pics soon.
