Leedy House in print...for reals!

It's an Easter miracle! Our house is in a magazine—Portland Monthly, to be exact.

And really it's a Prutting and Co. miracle, as they featured out house prominently in their large ad in the Real Estate and Garden issue of PM, page 43. Check it.

Andrew and the Prutting team, thanks for the lovely images and for the local press. I hope you get gobs of leads from this. Oh, and if you are salivating over the staircase railings pictured, send Greg some props as that's his most prominent design contribution.

Day 190

Um...that is too many days of this. Growing weary.

But on the upside, so many things are looking incredible:

- The stairs and railing are amazing. I need to post pictures. I'm sorry; will do so soon.

- The entire house is incredibly open, airy, and white. Standing in it, it almost feels like I have passed away and am living in some dreamy afterlife. Oh, except for all of the work I need to slog through every day. I suppose this must be really happening.

- Betsy's carpet went in yesterday. The lower level officially looks like living space!

- Greg really did a great job on the lighting. All the Modern fixtures and the Lutron switches are fab.

Tomorrow I will strive to post some actual photos. For now, use your imaginations.

And remember, some girls do get weary wearing that same old shabby dress. I have confirmed that it is true.

too much stuff to mention

It's out of hand. Moving, building, demolishing, reconfiguring. Nobody would build their own house if they knew about some of this stuff.

Positive things that stand out:

- The stair railing. It looks flippin' awesome.

- The shed. Again, awesome. Who knew a shed could be awesome?

- The stairs themselves. They make the house. Bravo Paul and team.

- The tile. Thank you, gruff Eastern European tile man of few words. You are making our house incredible.

- The white. Who-hoo! It's amazingly white in there. Just wait until we more in and dirty it up. ;-)

Oh well. It's only 3 more weeks.

Lake Oswego forever!

Or at least for a couple of weeks.

Well, we no longer live in Milwaukie. We are staying with Betsy until we can move into the house. Maybe 3 weeks? (Please God, let it only be three weeks--we are dying to be in the new house.)

Lots of things are happening:
- stair railings
- trim painting
- tiling
- shed roofing
- vanity cabinet and countertop building (go Greg!)
- closet door painting

I've taken a bunch of photos but they are on my phone. I'll upload and share at some point. Until then, just imagine an emerging masterpiece.

God, I am in love with the front balcony and railing.

Totally floored

We've hired a crew to install our hardwood floors (and refinish the ones we saved in the bedroom wing). I think they get started later this week or early next. Floors!

A few more things on the horizon:

- Drywall mudding/taping (this week)

- Bathroom tiling (2 weeks out?)

- Painting

- Trim work

- Carpet

- Stair/landing railings

- Move the kitchen from house 1 to house 2 (yikes!)

Andrew, you have your work cut out for you. That list makes me tired. And frightened. And excited.

Here's a reminder of how beautiful the front of the house is when the sun is shining. Flowering spring tree, sub-contractor vehicles and port-a-john are bonus items. ;-)
